I am involved in one of the most exciting professions in the world! It's a never-ending opportunity to share my vision and my heart with hundreds, if not thousands, of people all over the world. What could be better than that?
I have always been fascinated by the world we inhabit. From the day I picked up my first camera (at the age of eight!) it's been like magic. It's important to me that my work takes the viewer inside an intimate world - a place that, for the most part, the naked eye cannot see. When I shoot Abstractions, they reveal layers of texture, color, lines and shadows that we rarely see until it's presented to us. My work is also an homage to classic photography, but with a contemporary spin. I am a perfectionist, but I love what I do so much that it is truly fun! I also have a sense of humor, while at the same time being the consummate professional. I shoot because it's my passion and I believe that if you follow your passion, you can't possibly go wrong.
I also believe in diversification. While we are all concerned with how the viewer perceives our work, if we shoot the same subjects every day, day in and day out, we eventually stop seeing them. Before too long, we end up in a creative rut and our photography suffers. I never want that to happen to me. Consequently, I shoot a diverse range of subjects, from book or CD covers to wildlife and private events. As artists, we should push the boundaries of our creativity, regardless of what we shoot. If we know our equipment and get to know our subject, we can shoot anything; and do it very well. We can't stop at what's obvious, we need to create.
